Ohio SR-800, 2011
Ohio Route 800 south end overlooking the Ohio River Valley
Driving eastboud on McConnell Road, SR-078, west of i77 untill it joins southboun SR-800. You can't go wrong with any of the roads in this area.
Scenery, great quality roads and above all, enough twisties, sweepers and hills to make it both fun and challenging. If you prefer, take is easy and enjoy the clean air and breathtaking views. Before you hit the back roads, make sure you have sufficient fuel for 50 miles or so because I doubt you'll find fuel close by on any of the back roads. Even on SR-800 which is a relatively highly travelled road you won't find fuel in many parts. At the southern most tip of SR-800 you connect to OH -7 at the Ohio river. If you turn left and head north ofr severl hundred feet you will see the ferry to Sistersville WV. A $3.00 ferry trip across the Ohio River worth taking.

Service on this ferry is, well, beyond friendly. When we approachd the dock, the ferry had already started on it`s way. The loadmaster saw us pulling up on our bikes and called to us to confirm we wanted to cross. Next thing we saw is the ferry in full reverse coming back to pick us up. Saved us over a half hour wait!
Normal business hours are 6 a.m to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The cost is only $3 to cross the river.
